I wear the Vellus coat as part of my late season upper and I sometimes wear the Vellus or Cadog2 pants. The jacket I have worn in about -10. The pants I wear to about +10 then switch to my cold weather pants.

I bought the Posidon rain gear and sent it back. It was just too lightweight for me and I didn't think it would be durable enough. Bought the Koldo set and it has been bombproof. I also have the Kuiu rain jacket and I think the quality is about equal but the Koldo was quite a bit cheaper.

YMMV

Using Koldo set here in West Washington, waterproof, tough and reasonably quiet. Use it archery and rifle seasons. Warm if hiking much but vents really well. Also have poseiden pants and no problems yet, used with kuiu ultra nx jacket. No leaks and no tears yet. Also have ragnar pants and valhalla shirt, hoplight top.

Check out the videos that Top Priority Hunting did on YouTube about Kryptek. Also, #robbydenning did a video on the Vellus line while #ryanavery is going to be publishing a review of Kryptek Altitude soon (we hope) as well.

The altitude is awesome looking stuff, probably my favorite pattern. But man that stuff is expensive! $600 jackets are just too much IMO.

The Koldo series? That’s disappointing to hear I was intending on picking it up.
I think he's talking about the Poseidon series. The Koldo is thicker than the FL stuff. It's heavy duty. With enough effort you can rip anything. Which Kryptek stuff are you interested in specifically? Their Takur rain gear is probably the best stuff going, but it's expensive as hell.

I’m looking at the koldo, vellus and some of their pants and mid layers.

Vellus is a late season piece. You'll roast in it trying to hunt early or mid season, especially if you're walking.

Thanks for input everyone. I’m curious mostly about the koldo and how noisy it is, how well it packs, and if it has much warmth?

Also looking into the alaios pant for archery

Dalibor 3 pant during later season

Hoplight merino longsleeve
Koldo rolls into a roll about the size of a large gatorade bottle. Quiet for raingear. I would guess if you are wearing it in the rain it would be quiet enough. Very windproof. Pit zips are great. When it does rain, makes you happy you bought it.

Alaios pants are fantastic. Had them for 4 years now, cruising through desert, woods, everthing and they hold up amazing. Can't beat highlander for concealment IMO, and it looks awesome. Not too hot, but def need some merino under if its below 30 and you're just sitting there.
