Hey folks I was curious for the guys with experience on these scopes. I currently have a Leupold vx6 4-24 that I’m not overly happy with. The eye box is ridiculously tight and unforgiving at higher magnification. It’s also fairly big for the rifle I have it on. So I’m debating downsizing to the 3-18 vx6. Would the18 vs 24x help with eye box forgiveness or is it going to be the same because of the 6x range?

I had the VX6HD 3-18 for a short while. The eye box and glass were good but it would not hold zero reliably. After 3 trips to leupold it was replaced with another NF.

I have two VX6HD 3-18x, went to Leupold after several issues with Swarovski. So far the Leupolds have treated me well - haven’t noticed any eyebox issues. Going on a hunt this week and went to the range today just to check zero.

Yep, still good.

I have a VX6 3-18 on a Weatherby 300 mag. Selling the rifle so don't need the scope. Let me know if you're interested. Thanks, Steve

I've never had an issue with the eye relief on any Leupold scope I've owned or used. I can only guess the high max magnification would be the reason. I have a VX5HD 3-15 and its awesome!

Ok well that makes me feel better bout going to a 3-18. On my 4-24 I notice a big group size difference when I decrease the magnification. It is EXTREMELY sensitive to how you get behind the scope and eye box shadowing. What I’ve been doing with it lately has been find deer or whatever with binoculars, pull up rifle to 24x to judge better, dial down to say 12x-15x to take the shot.
