Who’s done it? Any issues? I want to build a shorty 16.5” 6mm or 6.5mm and I’m thinking I want a little more juice so maybe a 6.5prc or 6prc/saum. I have a very competent gunsmith. He's never done it but said he doesn’t think it would be an issue going from standard to magnum. Any issues with the the ejector/extractor when making the change?

I took the womans left hand 6.5cm T3X, pulled barrel and sent to my smith. He cut a muellerworks carbon barrel in 65prc, and opened the bolt to magnum case head dimensions. Have about 300 rounds through the rifle, no issues whatsoever. Oem Sako style extractor was re-installed after the machining, no mods, alls been well.

Mine is at my smith still, doing the same thing. He ended up breaking 3 toolheads on mine because the steel was so hardened so he sent it off to another guy to finish it up. Said it had only happened to him one other time with a tikka bolt. Should hopefully have mine back here soon and would be able to let you know how it works.

Justin at Kinport Peak Rifles has done a bunch of them, says it's an easy deal and hasn't had any issues.

J/A Outdoors has this service available. Cheaper than buying a new bolt or messing with trying to get yours sold.
