I'm looking at getting a OnxMap chip for the first time. Looking at either a region or the state. Seems the state comes with more detail regarding who owns the land. Have you guys/gals found that makes much difference? I'd like to buy one vs three for Washington, Idaho, Oregon.

Also open to other suggestions for map software. I'm mostly looking for some good topo maps on my unit (Garmin 64st).

I have a couple of multiple state chips and have not regretted the lack of landowner's names or contact info. But I primarily hunt/recreate on public land. If you think you might be using the landowner info quite a bit to ask for permission, then I'd get the single state chip.

I have the On X chips for a couple different states that I use in my Montana 600. I have used the landowner information on multiple occasions to successfully locate ranch owners (sometimes several miles away) and obtain permission to retrieve animals from public land via the adjacent private ground. This has saved me a lot of work and time. I have also used the landowner information to identify and locate different parcels for which I have been given permission by a particular landowner to hunt all of their property. It is not uncommon for these properties to not be contiguous.

I spoke with OnXmaps and had the same questions as you.

You can elect to purchase the download which is $10 more and you can have access on your computer and GPS. Buy multiple states and then create your own chip with multiple states. You just will need a larger size chip.

That's good to know!

Hey guys, I want to give you some more info the difference between our Premium and Regional products. The Premium chip is state specific and has all the private land ownership info (land owner names and parcel data). Our Regional chip will have multiple states and no private land ownership data. It will only show private. It's a little confusing so here is a link to info:http://www.huntinggpsmaps.com/premium-vs-regional#

Like is was stated above you can purchase your own chip (not larger than 32 gig) and add whatever Premium states you would want. Please feel free to contact me if you have any question. I'd be glad to help.

Thanks!
