OnX vs Everything Else

I sent OnX customer service a message and will get a sub to OnX Premium of the year for sure.

I think it got lost in the last couple threads, but I was asking if anyone is using or has used a Garmin Dedicated GPS with the Garmin Maps+, as I can get a Garmin 67i through work for $480.

Maybe I'll just start another thread so this one can stay on track.

I've literally used Gaia for maybe 10 years, and I've never had any issue with speed or layer issues. Granted, I don't use the free version.

Honest answer - it's always worked better than OnX for me, with better quality imagery.

One more thing - getting signal, or calibrating direction has nothing to do with the app on the phone, it's the phone itself.

I’ve messed with Caltopo, GoHunt, and OnX over the years. I felt Caltopo could work in a pinch. GoHunt rocked until they added more research tools in the app. I started to see major glitches on GoHunt and couldn’t even load their own topo maps in the field on off-line maps. The app would crash randomly on and offline. I was at the time using an older IPhone 13.

GoHunt had the best research tools (on browser). From a personal presence standpoint I didn’t like that there was no offline hybrid map option. The terrain eval tool was awesome on the desktop though!

OnX has felt the most polished. I hunt multiple states and think the Elite membership option covers everything I need.
