GoHunt vs OnX vs whatever. Looks like both GoHunt and OnX have tools for draw odds now. I found some older threads about people moving to GoHunt, but appears that back then OnX didn't have the advanced tools like draw odds? I'm very interested in that feature.

Do any of the other apps offer that?

Read a lot of recent stuff about OnX having glitches and issues. I'm guessing that's the case with all of them?

Anyone have any updates or preferences?

Last time I was using GoHunt it didn't have 3D exaggeration, and that was the main reason I went with OnX. Plus the recent imagery is awesome. GoHunt had historical imagery, but you had to stay in 2D.

But I think OnX's draw odds data still needs to be worked on a bit. Maybe it's beacuse I'm in Cali so they're not as focused on our state like other western states, but there's units I know have general and some late season draw tags, but all it will show me is a tag for a youth hunt.
Also, I don't think it shows your chance to draw a tag allocated for the random draw, only for preference points. GoHunt's info was pretty good, but in CO it would show all tags in one pool, instead of a regular tag pool and a separate pool of private land only tags.

I don't seem to have many glitches with onX. Every now and then the app force closes on my phone, but I pull it right back up and it's no big deal. And that's probably my beat up old phones fault rather than OnX.

I use the apps as good general overview, but when I'm getting down to the nitty-gritty I pull up fish and game data and start crunching my own numbers.

Good info. Thank you!

Been thinking about moving to GoHunt since the mapping comes with my GoHunt subscription and moving mapping to GoHunt would reduce number of subscriptions I'm paying for.

I tried GoHunt maps on a Wyoming hunt last year and worked just fine. However, I enjoy using the OnX mapping (app and web based) more. I don't know if it's because that's what Im used to or what. OnX seems to be easier to read and crisper topo lines while on hybrid mode, which is what I use 75% of the time.

OnX just seems to have a superior mapping.

I tried using OnX elite a couple of years ago and not using my GoHunt subscription for everything else. GoHunt seemed to be the clear winner here with the easy to use research tools plus the store side of things is another plus, all in one place. Back then all the research tools that came with OnX elite you had to navigate to different web pages that didn't necessarily work well together.

Currently just pay for a single state in OnX and use GoHunt for all my tag research. I think this year on my out of state hunt I'll be paying for the second state on OnX.
