I saw this promo too and can't figure it out. I don't see a payment option on the web site and when I try to purchase in app it doesn't offer anywhere to enter codes? Do I need to go to desktop? Does the code work for the $99 year elite?

You need to join on their web site, not thru an app store. Promo is not for chip. If buying a chip you get one year of app/web map free.

Is there a way to renew a current membership using the promo code? I used this promo code last year, so my service renews on June 23. I will actually be on a scouting trip when this happens.

Mudcat81 I did the same last year. I just canceled my current membership, and then went about bought a new one. All my waypoints and everything was saved and still there.
