Can anyone recommend some online resources or books on becoming a better shot with a rifle? I would really like to feel more confident at 300 yards plus but results are inconsistent.

Look into an appleseed as a way to get some hands on practice.
It's mostly rimfire (unless you want to shoot centerfire) but cheap way to put rounds downrange. Think there are two ranges that run them in Wisconsin. Racine County Line and another one up near MSP.

David Tubb's book. It's about shooting highpower but it covers just about everything you might want to know about shooting a rifle from all positions and conditions. Lots of it is highpower specific but I think it crosses over.
