One suppressor, two guns

Curious what suppressor to get for interchanging between two rifles. One is a 300win mag bigger barrel and other is a CA Mesa in 6.5 PRC. Both have 24” barrels and will be hunting rifles so hoping to not get a very long one. Thanks for any advice! Obviously will be getting a 30 cal one….just didn’t know if there are better options for doing this sort of thing….

Plenty of good options out there - I don’t know if there’s a “best”. If looking for something short-ish, a TBAC Ultra 7 works quite well. Dead Air Nomad is popular as well.

I have a Gunwerks 8ight which tames things nicely, but is heavy. Also have a Scythe-Ti, but won’t be putting this on my magnums due to the many failures noted.

What's important to you? Suppression and recoil management? Or portability/form factor? These small cans, scythe, ultra7, Nomad ti XC, are all getting in the small side for the 65prc. They're too small for the 300wm in my opinion. Yes they'll handle it(well the scythe has a 75% fighting chance) but performance suffers as the gas volume is too much for the efficiency. An ultra 9, Dilligent lti, or nomad lti XC are honestly what id go with for these 2 rigs.

Now if you wanted to suppress your 223, creed, dasher, 308, what not, yes the ultra7, lti, ti XC, scythe are all good options. Unfortunately there is no one best for all cartridges can.

You already lost the battle for a “short handy” rifle, so I would not sweat a 7” -9” can. But, if you go with the AB and a reflex over the barrel you can get some benefit without all the length.

I run the TBAC Ultra 7. It has been the “go to” but there are other cans that do well. If you have the funds the other TBAC cans are the bees knees.

going to agree with @hereinaz that you've missed the boat on worrying about a suppressor being too long. i've run a 30 cal can (older sig SRD762) on my 24" tikka 7RM and it's long, and still a magnum. it's not "handy" nor quiet, but it's better than being unsuppressed. i'd run the biggest can i could get if i was going to stick with magnums and 24" barrels.

there's lots of great options out there. i grabbed a nomad ti xc as my hunting can bc i wanted something lighter than the sig can or the silencerco hybrid 46M that i also use. but i also gave up on magnums and 24" barrels and went with 308s and 243s w 20" barrels.

Check out pewscience. You’ll get a good idea of what works and what doesn’t. I have a cat JL which is a bit longer but it does pretty darn well at being the quietest suppressor I own. If I wanted something shorter - I’d be going after a resilient suppressors Jolene s - short, lightweight and reasonably priced.

I will say - you will get to the point where the suppressor becomes part of your system - and taking it on and off really isn’t a thing with bolt guns. But everyone starts with a multi use suppressor and eventually you have one for everyone gun. Well worth it.

I had a dead air nomad I rotated between guns no issues. Just bought a banish backcountry to be a little lighter. Both are rated 30 cal and never read about major issues with either also.

Gunwerks 7even or 8ight. They come standard as a 30 cal, but, you can purchase caliber specific reducers that thread in with a hex tool. I have a Gunwerks 6ix that I move from a 300 WSM to a couple of 7mm-08s.

Any idea what the weight would be with this set up?
Not on the 5 inch reflex. With a wrap, a 3 inch bull barrel reflex with Raptor 8 is 16 ounces, my guess is no wrap and a 5 8nch reflex would be close to that.

Liberty Precision Mach S
Better than my Ultra7 (gen1) in every way but OD
Better than the Magnus S in every way I can think of

I won't buy another TBAC given how well the LPM Mach S performs. And I think TBAC rocks

Thanks. Seems really heavy, I was considering this for my next purchase, but more than 16 oz seems excessive. I've never tried a reflex, maybe with it over the barrel, it doesn't feel as heavy as it states.

I have the scythe ti and switched between 3 rifles during range sessions. It was a bit of a hassle, so I get the desire for having a suppressor for each rifle, but it wasn’t that big of a deal.

I loved everything about the scythe, until I recently became another statistic with a failure. I’m hopeful that it was a weak weld and is now ready to be a full performer, but my confidence is currently shaken. I caused me to go buy a LPM Mach K. I haven’t shot it yet, but that’s what my research led me to.

The reflex adds a bit. For a magnum, a Raptor 10 flush mount would give about the same performance for less weight and only slightly more length, and you would have the option of a reflex.
