If the rules are only one long range hunting rifle for all situations, I think a 300 Ultra mag or 30-378 would be my choice.

Bat custom action.
28" carbon barrel with a Seekins brake.
McMillan edge fill stock.
Nightforce rings with level.
Nightforce 5.5-22x50 NXS.

About 8 to 10 lbs field ready.

Just had a .300 WM built by Sawtooth Rifles. The guy that owns it is named Matt Yore. I have only stretched it out to 700 yards so far because I got it back from him and hunting season started a few weeks later. It is a very accurate rig. It has already taken 2 bull elk and a mule deer buck in the 2 1/2 months I have owned it.

A 338 of your choice. I'd go with a 338LM
Something built by GAP or another tier 1 builder.
A good mil/mil scope, front focal and 25x top end.

.300 jarret or .30-378 wby. John beanland Jarrett or Steve Baldwin of mechanical accuracy would be my preferred smiths.
