One Action, Two Barrels?

john in the shouldered vid does is different than most.
i would always use a grease or ant seize. there are plenty of stories of barrels galling witch is not good.

also i always start the barrel by hand in the action before i put the barrel in the vise. but you get the idea.

Do you have a barrel from these guys? I have all but hit the order button prefit but since I saw this, I figured I better ask.
Two. one is second hand 7-08 with reportedly 50ish shots through it, it shoots great. The 22BR I have been doing the scope drop tests with is from them.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. So far getting info from them has been quick and easy, I guess I better quit talkin about it and just hit that place order button.

a Remington can be a switch barrel with a shouldered barrel. once a smith sets up the action you can have a barrel drop shipped to your smith and have him chamber it. when you remove the old barrel with a barrel vise and an action wrench you will need a recoil lug alignment tool to center the recoil lug unless the bedding is tight enough to use the stock to align the recoil lug. the lug alignment tool is very cheap.

then you just screw on the new barrel.

with most customs you can have a smith chamber it and mail it to you to install yourself.

i have a couple buds with savages and they had the smith set up the action for a shouldered barrel and do away with the barrel nut.
No need to worry, my stock has built in bedding for the lug. I think this is the method I might go
