Yeah this one is weird. Sounds like some rich landowners want to try releasing captive deer into their low fence properties for the purposes of shooting big antlers and using the excuse of saying it may help with CWD…a disease that is largely not an issue in the state.

The state of OK has a rule that if you HF a place it requires the stare to perform a drive of animals off the property and then the fence can be closed and any bought animals placed inside are considered property of the land owner and can be hunted whenever and do not require a state issued license. Not the same situation as a low fence place. So at a significant cost and effort savings, sounds like some people want to release bred deer into low fence areas. I can think of only one reason for this, attempt for big antlers for themselves or they want to sell a hunt or take clients hunting, but either way it can only be about antlers.

No reason to listen to the scientists on such an idea. The people asking for this know any deer released isnt going to live linger than a few months at most.

Of course just my take on a stupid idea. But i would bet i am mostly correct.
