Bitter sweet year! Found out in early October that the landowner I was hunting on had sold the property. He told me I had until January 1 to hunt and to keep enjoying myself. A buck I had on camera in 2017 showed back up in a persimmon thicket just like he did the previous year. I needed an east wind, which in Oklahoma is rare. Ha 2 days in October that I made in to that stand with N east wind. Saw him the first sit but he skirted me in the cedars. The next opportunity, I made the most of the encounter! That's a fine deer, congrats!! Sucks you lost that ground. Been in that boat a time or two.
Yeah, it was a bitter sweet day! The new owner is a big cattle rancher and there are so many cows on it currently that the cover, is all but gone. It would take a couple of years to recover back to the state it was in.

Damn nice deer! What part of Oklahoma? I’m in the Texas Panhandle and there are a lot of big deer along the state line.
East Central Oklahoma but we also have a place just a few miles east of the state line near Canadian.
