OG on a 7 PRC video?

I know I’ve seen a video of someone metering this can on a 7 PRC but can’t find it for the life of me. Anyone got the link handy or have feedback in general on the OG on a 7 PRC.

I know the reaper is going to be the quieter can but I’m really wanting to keep length down on this one and the rifle has a 22” barrel (cutting it down might be in the future).

I don’t own an OG so don’t put too much merit into my comments but Form is on the record stating that the 6.5 PRC is really the upper limit of what the OG was designed for from a powder charge perspective. Don’t recall seeing a video of an OG on a 7 PRC but I’m guessing it’s probably a bit louder than desirable.

If it helps, Form also noted that the OG 65 performs better on 7 PRC than the OG, he did suggest you check your bore clearance first though.

A 20” 7PRC averages about 138 dB(A) at SE with the OG.

Id definitely consider an airlock 7mm or bigger can for a 7 PRC. The OG magnum as listed on the US roadmap sounds good too, especially if weight is closer to OG 6.5 than the standard OG. Not sure when that one will hit market.

I didn't realize a magnum was in the pipeline. I'll probably just wait and see how that shakes out. The TB Ultra 7 will just have to do for one more season.

I tested my OG next to a DA Nomad Ti on a 21" 7PRC. Even with the weight and length savings, there's no chance I'm using the OG for that rifle. It's going to stay on a 6cm.

What length nomad? I have the nomad LTI XC (8.8”) and it is a very quiet can, tied with the hyperion as my favorite range can. However the length/balance sucks to hunt with.

However, the OG was not designed for maximum sound reduction to my understanding, just quiet enough to be “hearing safe” and purpose built for hunting.

Life is full of purpose driven compromise.

I ended up buying an OG 6.5 that I'm using on a 6.5 creed and love it. I'll just keep using the TB Ultra 7 on the 7 PRC with fingers crossed that some sort of shorter offering will eventually come out for larger calibers. The Airlock ZG 7 mm only adds another 4.875", so it's an option and I think Unknown has a magnum reflex version in the works.

Really been fighting the urge to try that OG 6.5 on my 7 PRC. Per the 7 mm alignment rod, it will work.

So why are you fighting it? Check alignment, shoot. I have hundreds of rounds of 7mm on OG65’s.
