OG killer?

I wasn’t going to comment on this but… You know, let’s test apples to apples here…
I watched all the videos he posted on his YouTube just for fun. Realized it’s the same guy that everybody gets sick of him constantly bashing US. So par for the course here. Anyways… Most of his videos were bashing the OG 30 on noise.
We’re testing a ZG 6.5 can in the videos with a 6.5 prc which is going to be very efficient and quiet being a tighter bore. Great can either way. Then you have a OG 30 shooting the 6.5 prc through it that’s not even rated as quiet as the OG 6.5 in the first place which would be a closer comparison. So between that and the bore size difference which makes a big difference, especially in the reflex designs, I don’t think it’s a cut and dry comparison. Theres hardly any difference between the ZG 6.5 and OG 6.5 rating wise or peoples comparisons. It’s all subjective at that point. I try to stay respectful and professional, but it gets a little ridiculous when somebody has to insert themselves in any way possible to bash a company.

“insert(ing) themselves in any way possible to bash a company”? or maybe just simply answering fellow Rokslider’s questions @ID-Muley ?

Press posted a comparison video and then shared his subjective opinion. Was that opinion shared more than once? Yes. That said, I didn’t get the sense he was simply going out of his way to bash UM as you implied. My observation was he was responding to Rokslider inquires across various related threads as one of the very few at the time credentialed too, owning both the OG and a ZG.

Lol. He came across then, and now, as a US basher. Give us all a brake on defending him. People can buy whatever they want, but he definitely had an agenda. Airlock will sell a ton of cans... eventually. Production is their Achilles heel at the moment. Lots of people won't want to wait on them now that the tax stamp is gone. Good problem for them to have, making a product that's in demand. A more fair comparison would have been a 6.5 version from both companies, and he knows it.

You know, I have to be careful how I word things and it’s hard with a baby at home making me lack sleep for sure. But there’s definitely been some unnecessary comments that I’ve seen. I really don’t want to start any drama though. I know he was offered a full refund and I just didn’t really see it being a fair comparison is all with the OG and not OG 6.5.

It’s hard in some ways to learn things when testing and apply them to new designs because people will have the old designs, which are normally still good but there’s a reason it was changed for the better. Which is also awesome for innovation and the future. You know, I’m human and not always the best at wording things so I hope I’m coming across as what I truly mean.

Thanks guys.

What question is the OP answering by reposting someone else’s old video?

Presswood posted that video here months ago. It generated lively discussion. It remains a good data point. Since then, plenty of other people have posted their own side-by-side comparisons based on their own firsthand experiences with a number of other cans. The OP isn’t doing that. He’s just stirring the pot.

No1 is talking about the OP. An Unknown Suppressor employee responded to OP’s post implying the subject in the video was out to get them or something, and that the comparison wasn’t an apples and oranges comparison to begin with.

I didn’t (and still don’t) think that’s a fair response, especially from an interested party, but I regress, it’s Sunday and their are more important things than this.

The real OG killer was the OG6.5. Does everything better @ a lighter weight. The only thing it can't do better is 30 cal and up. I guarantee US learned a lot from their first can they made. Mistakes were made and it seems like they are getting on a better path now. The OG6.5 and reaper look like great cans. I am sure they will continue to improve with each new can they develop.

I learned an expensive lesson on buying the first new can, from a new company. Doubt I will do it again going forward with any company.

For the record, no idea who posted the video, it was sent to me, and previously I had never seen that video.

Yes a caliber specific will have marginal improvements, but that appeared to be a lot more than marginal.

I’d be interested in seeing the same video with a 6.5 OG can, but my statement remains the same…smaller, lighter, and apparently better suppression, all while not having to deal with a reflex type can headaches (barrel diameter specific, length, weight.). Am I missing something here?

As @HuntHarder stated, I’m trying to wait for the gen 2 or at least any possible issues to be addressed with the airlock but with can bans on the horizon maybe that’s not an option.
