Did our VJP test lest week. Wyatt scored a 69. He just turned 13 months today. We are actually starting to go the wrong direction. Sooooo much Horsepower and huge motor/tank. Worked on retrieving fresh, floppy critters. TONS of both prairie and mountain miles. Another porcupine two weeks ago. Point getting worse. Just wants to flatten every hill. Obedience was VERY good. Now we are testing boundaries and collars. Still love him. Amazing machine….but the nuts fully dropped and the head is starting to widen and flatten out. ie- he’s becoming a Big Dog now IMG_2541.jpegIMG_2504.jpegIMG_2455.jpegIMG_2367.jpegIMG_2280.jpegIMG_2230.jpeg

Junior hunt test campaign for my son and pup. First one was a pass by the skin on their teeth, the dog has finally found his drive and now we are back into obedience and steadiness work.

Was he and I on the road and doing central Idaho hood rat shit for a few weeks. Wasn’t sure how he would return “home”. Rather grateful really. Poor Louie. For some reason he turns this 22 pound cat into a Flesh Light. Teenagers….79856196619__46689431-82AC-45F9-8528-14B88996F3BF.fullsizerender.jpeg

Junior/started are the hardest you never know what those young dogs will do. Congrats on the pass

Lol that's for sure. We got a no bird on the first flyer because a wind gust blew it back into the gunners station. Had to pull him off the line. Second flyer he took off with my son still holding the collar, their both 95#. He went about 5 yards pulling my son on his belly before they got stopped. It was a clown show

The no bird just ratcheted up excitement even more that’s tough on the dogs. Did you get it on video will be fun to look back on. My first finished test I sat on the honor bucket for five dogs I was sweating bullets haha

Todays off season work, Bring your dog to work day. Water/land marks and Water/land blinds this weekend. Throw in some diversion birds, poison birds, and some honor drills.

I find it hilarious that you put a picture of him carrying an elk leg immediately after a picture of him looking at an elk.

Had my young GSP on birds for his first exposure today. Handled the experience like a seasoned pro. Went from a curious startled, to seeking birds, to a solid point by the 3rd pigeon. So much fun to watch that drive get ignited. Working with a new trainer to enhance what I already know about training also. Couldn’t ask for a better day.

It’s a very good score. Technically anything above 65 is very good and will qualify him for Hegwald / Armbruster, provided he has a visible beard and has a correct bite.

Don’t stop at VJP, take him through HZP and VGP, maybe even through VSwP.
Thank You...but EVERY social media post across the US seem like everyone scored at least one 11 and their scores start with a 7. I am competitive and butt hurt. I have plans for HZP. But I really gotta get on FF. It's intimidating without an On Hand mentor to do via YT or online plans. I've seen it done with prior DD. Was pretty barbaric with my former "trainer". Worked. Like to find a happy medium. But yes....trying to keep progressing.

Force catch isn't really that bad, freddy kings YouTube walks you right through it.

Took my family and pup to a retriever training day yesterday, saw some good growth from my oldest boy and the dog vs 2 weeks ago. Training obedience at every opportunity, have another junior test next weekend.
