Going through and old timers guns the other day he had a few common calibers that were snatched up--- Older BDL 300 and 7 rums, 338 wins, 300 wins.

The gun that caught my eye well it would be a barreled action (700) pre BS Remington.

375 RUM, I don't have a need for it however its odd and I like odd. He has everything to reload for it, dies brass, factory ammo.

Anyone have any experience with this caliber? I know of course that its a hammer on both ends. He has a bunch of 270 LRX factory stuff for it and for 500 I thought it was smoker of a deal.

I do reload, and thought I was set on a 338 for bears and the like but tell me more about this one.

More thump than a 375 Ruger and 375 H&H…what else is there to know?

Well it was never on my radar, what is it capable of with 270s?
Roughly 3,000 fps with 270 gr bullets...and a LOT of recoil. It is based off of .404 Jeffery case.

The 375 H&H will get about 2,700 fps with 270 gr bullets.

That’s a deal for sure, but what a thumper. Beyond my recoil tolerance unless standing - it must recoil as much as a 458 win.
