I am pondering this one for my bolt action 6.5CM. Any negative to the can. It fits my size and weight parameters but not sure about K cans. I have never had one. I have a bunch of S cans though. I am hoping it will take the edge off for the 1 or 2 shots at deer.

I have no experience with that particular suppressor, but I would compare it with the Airlock ZG 6.5 and US OG 6.5. From my experience with them, they are very good suppressors (not just very good short suppressors).

I have an Hydrogen L 6.5. Not the k but the longer brother. It is super quiet! Otter creek makes some Badass cans in my experience

I have read how good their suppressors are and spent a lot of time looking at the data from the TBA Suppressor summit. I have a Hudrogen L in jail right now. Can’t wait to hear it on my 300 Win.

That Can seemed to be the best of the 5" forward cans just based on performance reports prior to the intro of the Airlock and OG 6.5. Be hard to skip past those two options now days.

I have one and really like it. Shot a NRL match with it on a 6.5 creed and it worked well. Only other can i have is the Gunwerks 6IX+ and I think its a bit quieter honestly. Ordered the OG 6.5, I wont have it until next year to compare however.

I have a hydrogen L 6.5 and it’s one I regret buying. Long and relatively heavy (14.5oz). I debated which one to get K, S, or L back when I ordered it and the K and S rated a lot louder than the L. Hence the purchase of the L. Now, I would not consider any of the Hydrogens. While well made cans, there are better options, ie lighter and quiet. The reaper is almost half the weight and shorter than the L. While I have not shot one yet, they seem to be rated as pretty quiet. For sure quieter than the Hydrogen K.

The airlocks sound like a great choice. I would take an AB Raptor 8/10 stack over a hydrogen as well.

So you're just not pleased with the weight and length of the hydrogen L? Because according to most accounts and detailed testing it is one of the quietest cans on the market. Definitely one of the quietest for the money.

Honestly I can’t tell the difference between it, a scythe, or AB Raptor 10 when behind the rifle and it’s 50% heavier. It might be a little quieter, but too long and heavy for my hunting rifles. It will live on a range only rifle.

When I bought it, I was thinking 12 oz, just a little more than the AB, but that’s without the direct mount which I didn’t consider. I got it due to how they held up to destructive testing and being quiet. Honestly i can’t tell that it’s quieter than cans I already have.

I would buy the reaper or AB again, but would not buy another hydrogen. Now with the new airlocks, I see no reason to buy another hydrogen. I am sure the K version is not quiet, even otter creeks published number have it being fairly loud. The people who have tried an airlock all say they are quiet, stupid light, and small. For inexpensive and decently quiet the AB A-10 is great. Sub $500, 11 oz and quiet enough. Now with no $200 stamp it’s even better.

I’m hoping to find out how quiet the Hydrogen L is on Sunday. It will live on a 22” 300 Win. I got mine on sale for $700 so I won’t be disappointed as I know it will be quieter than any other suppressor I own.

After looking at all the data on the 2025 Suppressor Summit for 300 Win data, it is rated as one of the top 3 performers in every category. My buddy just got a Nomad LTi for his 300 Win and it’s impressive. The L is supposed to be the same or slightly quieter.

As to weight: With a Ti adapter it will weight 12.5oz which is still light for a 9” can. My first suppressor is a Surefire .30. It is 9” long and weighs 28oz with the adapter. To me 12oz is light.

For that use case it’s probably fine. The one poster was looking at a K version in 6.5. I also think the 6.5 version runs heavier than the 30 cal due to smaller holes in the baffles. Mine is over 12 oz with no hub adapter.

Can you tell us why you say that? Personal experience with them?

Because he is part of airlock suppressors lol or just a huge fanboy I’m guessing.

I’d like to see a side by side comparison because the hydrogen L that I have is stupid quiet. The airlock is lighter.. but I would think the hydrogen l is quieter with the added length.

The hydrogen K has been around awhile , and there are plenty of reviews of what it sounds like .

The airlock is lighter , quieter and prolly a little bit shorter depending on what mount is in the hydrogen .

I’m talking about the hydrogen K . Of course the 9” hydrogen L is quieter than the airlock

OCL hydrogen K performed quite well on this test. https://precisionrifleblog.com/2024...r-summit-hard-data-to-compare-250-suppresors/.

I bought it based on this information, along with its physical characteristics, for hunting. I don’t own any other suppressors and have little experience with them. The air lock looks to be a fantastic product. Most of us are here because we want first hand knowledge not speculation, which essentially add nothing to the conversation and create more noise. We want to know who has tried them and what they have concluded.
