NWT Trip - Mystery Ranch Metcalf or Marshall

I'm headed to MMO in NWT. I already have a Metcalf 4,333 cu inches. But Im worried this may be too small. Can I make this work of do I need a 6,200 Cu Inch Marshall - another $416.00. Is there any issue with the Marshall as carry on - I don't want to check it if possible

Seems a bit small if you're doing a multi-day backpack hunt up north. I personally would be looking at bringing a pack at least 6500 CI in size.

I've flown with my Kifaru EMR2 as a carry on several times with just a few clothes, my optics and scrunched down tight so it didn't look too big. With the 26" stays, it has to go in the overhead sideways, but I was in First Class, so it wasn't an issue. Flying with an oversize carry on can be problematic these days depending on boarding priority.

If it were me, I would be taking your Metcalf as my carry on with my personal stuff and optics and then check in my big backpack mostly loaded up in a large duffel bag. That seems to be the best approach I've found flying solo with backpack gear and rifle to manage luggage at airports.
