Wife and I drew were fortunate enough to draw Antelope tags this year. Hunted two different units over two different weekends. A lot of firsts over these two hunts, but the best of all was this happened to be my wife's first big game hunt. She dropped the hammer on a dandy of a buck. Awesome experience seeing her emotions pour out over this whole trip. She took her buck the last morning of the hunt. She almost threw in the towel on the day, but I was able to convince her to wake up early one more day and give it ago. Needless to say we made the right choice. Smacked this stud at 454yards. Perfect shot/double lunged.
I took her home that Sunday repacked for my hunt and was on the rd again on Thursday(wife's bday). Definitely fortunate enough to get the nod to go. Friday morning we started with a buck running into us at 25 yards. Not the smartest lil guy but we let him live another day. The action continued with multiple stalks on groups of lopes. Connected on this guy which I'm happy with, lots of character (even though the wife's was bigger). Really only got to see a small portion of the units, but it was hard to leave lopes to go find lopes. These hunts definitely sparked the flame for Antelope hunting and can't wait to get back out there. It was an awesome experience and look forward to the waiting period to end already. Guess we'll have to try other states in the meantime.
Wanna give a shout out to folks I talked to on forums y'all made the experience that much better!
