Nothing? Im blown away nobody here has drawn at least a tag in the unit and has no input what so ever. I would greatly appreciate any info that can be given. I would love some available camping areas, some elk seen here areas, what the weather could be like, condition of roads, or even just some score hold out suggestions. Its one of the best elk tags in the country as far as I know and was sure there would be atleast a few that had experience in the unit. I greatly appreciate anything anyone can offer. Thank you!

My avatar is a deer I got across the street in 222. The unit you drew in is pretty much close to a holy grail. You can get 350 plus in there or bigger. Its a big area and I would suggest a guide. Greg Krough would be my choice. Although known for Mule Deer, he puts some big Elk to sleep as well.

Alot of roads are like freeways, wide and smooth, some not so much. There is private land on that side so be aware. That time of the year be prepared for mild day time temps at best. Be prepared for temps in the teens, snow. My experience there during the same week week was very warm. Just be prepared for it all. Pioche is the nearest services. Campground at Patterson pass is one option but there are others including off grid camping. Elk tags up there sell for 10k or more. Its a big deal especially for a NR.
