Careful, lowa cautions from using oil based leather conditioners on their boots. The adhesive in the rand deteriorates or something.

Learned this firsthand. Unknowingly used Obenaufs on a pair of Lowa's and the rand started coming unglued. Switched to SnoSeal and no further problems.

I use Kenetrek waterproofing Boot Wax on my nubuck Kenetrek Mountain Extremes and my newer Asolo Sasslongs. Both have glued on rubber rands and, according to Kenetrek, it "will not harm glued-on rubber rands" at least according to their label. And, it has not harmed the rubber rand on either boot after 4+ treatments on my Kenetreks and twice now on my Asolo's. It waterproofs well, lasts for weeks with heavy use and so far, I see no reason to change.
