NRL Hunter Open Light Suppressor Weigh In Procedure

I’m trying to understand the weigh in process for the 10 oz allowance for factory suppressor for open light.

Is gun weighed with suppressor on and you just get a max 12lb 10oz?

Are gun and suppressor weighed separately?

What I’m trying to understand is if I can run a 12lb 2 oz gun for example and 8oz can for 12lb 10oz and meet the suppressed weight allowance? I didn’t quite understand that from reading the rule book pdf I found.

Anyone shot that category yet and weighed in?

I interpret it as you just get an extra 10 ounce weight allowance when you weigh in. Would not expect them to weigh a can separately.

It doesn’t matter what the can weighs.

If you don’t have a suppressor, the rifle has to be under 12 lbs

If you have a suppressor, the rifle has to be under 12 lbs 10 oz

That’s it.

I’m planning the same thing, shoot Open Light with suppressor. My rifle and suppressor are only 11# total at this point but I’ve found it balances and shoots better with the suppressor. Most suppressors weigh more than 10oz so I think they just picked a reasonable number so shooters aren’t penalized for using a suppressor, but low enough that people don’t try to use the extra 10 oz as a way to game the system.
