NRL Hunter Gear List

I thought you might have mentioned having a unique throat in that one? [side note: I dig that lilja barrel profile!]

Factory tikka barrels give me PF anxiety going smaller than 6.5 but it seems like guys have no problem with 25 creed. My dang 24" CTR doesn't want to hit PF with 140s and h4350 yet my 28" benchmark/lone peak 6.5x47 with same bullets/powder goes 120 FPS faster without any indication of pressure.
That's exactly what I shoot. Lapua Brass (small rifle primer), 140 Berger Hunting VLD, 43gr of H4350 is getting me 2787fps. Should be just over 390,000pf.

I've got intermittent pressure signs once I start getting above 2700 FPS and 42 gr H4350 with 140 hybrids.

My 24” CTR barrel has no problem making PF, but with the cheapo 147 eld’s. It’s been 2720ish for the last 2000ish+/- rounds.

People have extremely generous and loaned me RF binos and a tripod at matches as well as actual armboards, bags, etc. I’ve been very fortunate to shoot skills in groups that have had some top shooters in there also.

I’ve got some RF binos of my own now as I want to hunt with them, but still haven’t brought myself to spend the money for a tripod and head to shoot from. Maybe next year.

People have some great gear at these events and it is literally a skys the limit type thing for gear. I was told I did well at the first match because I came back the second day without having bought anything after the first evening 😂

I’m tempted to find a way to shoot a heavier gun and see how it goes, but if you’re like me and don’t have anything that’s really competition oriented you can still go and shoot for the fun of it. I’ve only shot 2 matches and I learned a ton from the guys in the group both times.

I was there.
Did you see the guy walking around the course with the size XL chocolate lab service dog? That was myself and MurphyTheWonderDog. It was our first match to observe. Next time I will get registered in time so I can shoot it. Because we all need yet another expensive and time consuming hobby right?

Has anyone gotten any info if the new Springfield 2020 Heat Seaker in 6.5cm will be on the factory NRL list yet?
Thanks,
Doc

I am also in the market for the same items. Specifically, for AICS LA metal mags.

The only ones I’ve had are SAP AMC holsters. Haven’t gotten a ton of time on them but they have worked fine thus far.

I don’t use it mounted on my belt just because it’s bothered me when wearing my pack to/from the stages of an nrlhunter match. Used to carry my mag in my cargo pocket but have since started carrying it on my bino harness side strap and like it much more. It’s more out of the way and still easy to get to when I need it. I put a small piece of foam in the bottom so the mag sits a little higher and is easier to remove and store when done. I’m sure it would work on your belt just fine if you’re set on mounting it there. This is the one I use, it’s cheap and has held up this match season (5 matches) without any problems, I don’t foresee any issues with it.
