People have extremely generous and loaned me RF binos and a tripod at matches as well as actual armboards, bags, etc. I’ve been very fortunate to shoot skills in groups that have had some top shooters in there also.
I’ve got some RF binos of my own now as I want to hunt with them, but still haven’t brought myself to spend the money for a tripod and head to shoot from. Maybe next year.
People have some great gear at these events and it is literally a skys the limit type thing for gear. I was told I did well at the first match because I came back the second day without having bought anything after the first evening
I’m tempted to find a way to shoot a heavier gun and see how it goes, but if you’re like me and don’t have anything that’s really competition oriented you can still go and shoot for the fun of it. I’ve only shot 2 matches and I learned a ton from the guys in the group both times.
