Congrats Becca. Once again, you and Luke amaze me. You two are living life to the fullest. I would love to hear about your earlier hunts, where Luke shot his ram, and your caribou hunt. Did I miss them somewhere?

Becca , what rifle did you use ? Ryan mentioned a model 7 Remington. I'm sure that it's chambered in some super overbore magnum like a ...308 win ? Ha ha ,

Becca, congratulations on an awesome ram! Does not look like a full curl, but hey close enough. I would live to gear the full story over a beer or two next time I am in town.

Hey, not bad!

My freezer got filled with moose this year because I had a "just in case" tag in my pocket also.... but I think yours is just a tad bigger. :)

Checks pocket: moose, deer, black bear, and caribou subsistence permit. I am ready, just in case.

Now if I can only get off this island and get back to something other than a paycheck. (Peaks out of weather port window for any fresh deer sign while gale winds howl pass and tree limbs crash to the ground behind camp)

Thanks everyone! I spent the afternoon trimming and wrapping the back strap and tenderloin steaks--the rest is being done at our favorite game meat shop and should be ready later this week. Here is one backstrap, I had to fold it in half to fit it on our kitchen counter and it had up to 3" of fat on in in some places...

You haven't missed the stories yet, we just haven't had a chance to edit all our photos and videos and write them up properly. In the last 6 weeks we have only slept at home 7 nights and have had a lot to do reorganizing gear and getting things ready for the next trip. We will do our best to compile better trip reports in the next few months once our life slows down a bit.

I do indeed hunt with a Remington model 7 chambered in .308. "My" rifle was actually Luke's first, a gift from his parents when he was a kid. We had it shortened to better accommodate my smallish size and short LOP, and its been pretty much the only rifle I use.

We would look forward to that Glenn, or maybe come out to the house for moose burgers if our schedules line up!

Great eating!!

Just picked up the last of my moose from the game shop since with the busy season, it took a while for them to finish the cured sausage. Well worth waiting for!

In addition to steaks, roasts and burger, we had breakfast, Italian, and chorizo sausage made as well as hotlinks, jalapeño cheddar dogs, two kinds of summer sausage, and teriyaki and pepperoni sticks. A moose sure goes a long way!
