Not good news

I'm making a comparison to what I normally expect looking for pronghorn. In this area, once can easily see quite a ways just driving. The herd numbers are much less than I expected. Big and flat. Drive, look in one big basin or large flat area, drive to the next. 've hunted there before, years ago. You can often see for at least a half mile in every direction.

If I were scouting in Moffat County, I'd have seen at least a hundred pronghorns in the first couple of hours.

Scouting a basin where you can see the whole area with your binos by car makes more sense than walking around where you can already see. Antelope are not hard to find when they are hanging out in the basins and fields. Picking them up at 2 miles is no problem with good optics.
