I put in for an eastern plains unit, and got the license. Doe tag. So, I went out to scout the area. In 4 hours of driving around the unit, I saw a whopping six pronghorns. It's about 85-90% I'll turn in my license to keep the preference points. Damn, I was looking forward to some tasty pronghorn meat. Six pronghorns for probably 80 miles of driving in the unit is not a good return.

Obviously frustrated and rightly so, but I’m not entirely certain what a vague post on rokslide really accomplished for you. Maybe the intent was simply to vent.If I were you, I’d definitely return the tag given your circumstances and the tone of your post. I would assume that at that point someone else can draw the tag. Perhaps their perspective and outlook will be better. Better luck next year.

IF your intention was for assistance, advice, etc. to help you find antelope, I’m sure that if provided a little more information, there’s plenty of folks here who could oblige. Something tells me that this wasn’t the reason for the post, though….

I drew a tag (type 1) for the same eastern unit I hunted last year. Last year I saw nothing the first day of hunting, saw a few antelope the second day and took a buck on day 3. I expect this year to be about the same and I am looking forward to boots on the ground in a landscape completely different from where I live.
