Congrats! My 1st elk was also a cow.

Killing any elk with a bow is a challenge, your freezer full of elk meat is going to be appreciated all winter.

Bulls are fun to hunt, but those trophy cows are a close second! No antlers to worry about and they taste the same or better.

Meat is meat and a cow with a bow is a trophy. I have never taken an elk with a bow and if my first ones a cow I will be grinning from ear to ear and almost just as happy as if I had killed a bull...especially on the packout.

Congrats on the Cow, any Elk is a good Elk, them Cows are not easy. I'm still after my first Elk and I won't hesitate if I get a Cow Elk in my sights.
