I see Nosler came out with a new line of bullets, anyone use them yet?
They look more robust then anything hornday, hopefully not another explosive line like SST & BT, ELDX
Maybe something in the middle?

Looks like similar to ballistic tip construction with a soft point or lead tip.

You call ELD-X and SST explosive? You shooting a 30-06 at 20 yards?

It's the Nosler Solid Base Spitzer, which went out of production over a decade ago but seems to be coming back. It's a cup-core with a thick jacket at the base to aid in weight retention, opposed to say an Interlock with a jacket step to retain the core.

MidwayUSA already has it. A box of 20 for 308 Winchester is $34.99.

Yet another out-of-touch Nosler moment. Priced $10+ above its direct competitors: Hornady Interlock & Norma Whitetail. Priced in line with ELDM & ELX match loads. RavenRockPrecision has Norma Oryx loaded ammo for that pricing and it's a bonded bullet.

Yes seems the solid base was introduced in 1972 and was fairly solid for hunting deer & elk . Till they discontinued them for the ballistic tip
Agreed nosler is slightly out of touch on list price? But I found some for +/- $25
In both .270 & .308 , which is good for me when I run out of my Norma oryx 150gr 308 , and .270 140gr sierra game changer.
Hopefully they are loaded close to advertised MV ( lol fat chance that will be the case)

Should be a great option for Whitetail’s in the timber. At 25-35 a box it’s priced competitively with Hornady whitetail with arguably better brass

That's all I shot when I was a young man, and they are fantastic for deer. Better than the Interlock that followed it, but they performed well too. I thought the Solid Base was more accurate too.

Hopefully it marks their return as a reloading component. Up here loaded looks to be within a dollar either way of hornady whitetail so hoping if they appear as a component they're priced with the interlocks. The 7mm 150 grain solid base were almost universally accurate.

Agreed. It's a superb bullet. I'm on my last box of these 120grainers for my 7mm08. They are a killing machine.
