I figured it would end up along these lines. I’m glad I videoed the issues before I sent it in. Bunch of BS for sure. You seemed hotter yesterday and the more I have thought about it the more frustrated I have become.

Don’t get me wrong it will be fixed, but will it be right? Who knows how long this redesign fix takes, let alone to manufacture the then parts, tear apart the old (which they should start with a fresh stock and bedding), reassemble, and then prove it works this time.

Yea. It really bothered me to hear that there is a possibility that we are getting different stories. That stinks of dishonesty and I have little patience for that. The conversation today left little doubt about what direction I want to take. It’s a shame, really. But, it’s just a “thing”.

This is, unfortunately, the nature of being the early adopters of any new platform. I've been lucky and I've been burned on a few Gen1 releases of guns. Shit happens, but it doesn't stop me from being an optimist when I see something I like when it comes to new rollouts. Be patient with Nosler, since CS reps might actually have been told two different things, and give them the chance to make it right. They're not out to screw you over; it's a lousy business model.

I spoke with them today. I wish that I hung up feeling better. It sounds like a total redesign of the follower, spring and mag box are in the works. I was told again that they did test every rifle for feed reliability before they leave. The ease in which I discovered this issue surprises me that they didn’t see it in production testing. The time line going forward is up in the air. I do think that they are trying to fix this, but in my opinion now isn’t the time for fixes. That should have been done in preproduction.

It does seem that the non-short and stubbys work well. I hope that continues.

In the end I’m likely going to wash my hands of this and take the offer to get my money back from my dealer. I’ve lost total interest in this firearm and I only had it in hand for two days in the last 3-4 weeks.
If David Archerd told you they check them f to make sure they feed then he lied to you or me one. He told me they use to but don’t anymore because they had complaints of of them finish inside the receiver being rubbed. That’s what he said when I asked him why didn’t they check it. Who knows, maybe they do check them and he was just lying to me so it didn’t make them look bad. Either way it looks bad lol. I can understand a mistake or a warranty issue but this is not that! This was several people making an assumption that something would work and not checking to make sure it would. Bad design and either no quality control or someone or several someone’s not doing there job. I don’t mind waiting a few more days or a week but after that refunds should be happening. Mistakes are ok. I have made plenty but it’s what you do about them afterwards that matters. I’ll be waiting and watching to see what they do in the next few days before I decided what I’m going to do.

It’s a not new a new platform actually lol. The 6.5 prc has been out 2 years. The action is not new either. These are assembled parts. Wyatts box mag works in other 6.5prc rifles. Feeding issues with 6.5 prc have been talked about in online forums on the web over two years ago. Other manufacturers have had the same problem. It seems to me that nosler simply didn’t do there homework and then didn’t check to see if 2+2=4. I do agree with you that the customer service guy might be getting told 2 different things. However it’s what he is not saying is the problem. How about we are sorry, we made a mistake, here is a refund or how about a different rifle etc or hey this is going to take awhile what can we do to make it right. So far none of that is happening. These things i mentioned are what separates poor and average companies from great ones

My question is why doesn’t the box mag and follower from wyatts work? Seems there is a bigger issue and it’s easier for them to blame wyatts. He has been making them for years now. I don’t think the receiver or stock was millled out right but I could be wrong

That's kind of the problem with a lot "custom" rifles... Mack Bros. built the action based on a Rem 700, McMillian built the stock, Wyatts built the mag box.

They all work individually, but once you stack tolerances you can get some fitment issues. If you go back to the Rem 700...their tolerances are pretty sloppy to make it all work together.

I had a couple of issues with my Nosler 48 early on... they handled it pretty adeptly. They did well for me compared to other firearms companies I've dealt with in the past and I ended up happy enough to buy another one.

Out of curiosity. Could the bottom metal be swapped out for an AICS setup?

Well you can add me to the list of 6.5 PRC going to have to head back :( Unfortunately, I kind of helped Jefferson make his decision. I got one in mid November and I loved this gun. I almost went with 26 Nosler, but decided on the 6.5 PRC. You can call me dumb or not paying attention, but I've been shooting a 28 Nosler for so long, I just was loading two rounds in the magazine... it works fine with two, but when you put the third one in, I see the same issues. I just sent Nosler an email, so I'll see how this goes. Right now, I'd be more inclined to swap out for a 26 Nosler. I only have a few boxes of ammo and a friend locally that would buy them from me. I really don't want to send mine in right now either if they really do not have any idea how to resolve this issue :(

I've never owned a Nosler rifle, but always loved their ammo. I was about to sell my current 28 Nosler and order a M48, but I think I'll wait on that until I can see what is going on with this. I'm generally a Bergara buyer, but I wanted this one so bad....

Sorry to hear that! I too wanted this rifle badly. But I’m over it now (mostly). The unfortunate part is that it’s just another case where the consumer becomes the r&d department less the compensation.

Funny, I wonder if they would’ve just advertised “2+1 capacity” like Bergara, and *I think* Savage, for magnum/fat rounds, if this would’ve become as big of a deal as it has. Just random thoughts. I still want one in .308 win.

I'm so use to that, I think that is why I didn't even notice they claimed 3+1. Mine shoots so darn good, I don't know I want it setting at Nosler and them tear it apart and rebuild the darn thing or not... I did notice the first one being a bit harder to load, something I didn't notice shooting it, so maybe I'm being super picky now that I see the issue. It did scrape the brass pretty bad and I do not have that on my fired rounds before. I did check that. Nothing like getting gut punched a couple of months after you have had the rifle :(

Mine and others would have to be advertised as 1+1. Loading the second round in the mag box is where the issues start. Doing this has the “next round to feed” on the left side of the box. This is the problem area. It seems as if this rounds shoulder pivots on the receiver allowing the base of the case to tip below the bolt face. This allows the bolt to override, gouge, scratch, misfeed, etc. in doing this the round is moved slightly forward and if you adjust the case to allow it to be picked up the feed is extremely rough. The tip of the bullet is pounded into the feed ramp.

All for the low, low price of $2k+

Notice the dents in the shoulder area from feeding and locking the bolt closed. Don’t overlook the scratches and gouges on the cases.

I wish I could find one in 280 Ackley to fondle and if it passes my scrutiny, I would buy it.

I might sell my NIB Nosler Custom Shop 270 WSM to make that happen.
