Remember that there were two stories told regarding this. One that there was no testing of feed at the factory because of....

The other story was that they test several rounds for feed at max SAAMI and several at min SAAMI.

At this point believe what you’d like.
I believe Nosler is good, I really do. I think David is genuine and tried to build report with the lengthy conversations he has. He doesn’t design or manufacture, but he is trying to smooth over that issue. I’ve not been lied to, but I see why you feel that way. They have had my rifle 1 week, I will give one more before I check out.

I did not know The box manufacture had a video or instruction about what to do if it didn’t feed.

I WAS going to wait until next week to call, but after the shit email that you got...I’m back in the game. Luckily I’m not hurting for the money because it’s money saved for this project. However, I’m still “out” the money. I called about another rifle today. Much more expensive. I wouldn’t have had to do this if Nosler would have been honest in their approach. I’m have to say that my impression of Nosler now is totally different than that just a short while ago.
I have had one of there rifles a few years ago. A m48 liberty and liked it. Which is why I wanted this one and this one seemed like a good gun. Customer service has not been good at all so far which is not a good sign. I mean dang offer to swap it out for another gun or offer to send some ammo while we wait lol. Can’t get folks on the phone or respond to an email unless you raise hell. I should have bought a seekins havak in 6.5prc. Only reason I didn’t is that they had a wait time of a couple months.

Someone who tells me one thing and then tells someone else something different is going to have a hard time passing the honesty test. I have been very understanding in this process. But, when Jefferson says that he was told something 180* from what I was told...it speaks volumes!! Like I said, I’ll call tomorrow. However, instantly, I can’t help but feel like my understanding was taken advantage of.

Funny that you say Seekins. I chose the m21 over the Havak and now I’m wondering what those reasons were.

Go check out the nosler forum. There are a few guys who have had issues with customer service in the last year regarding nosler rifles. Not sure if it was with david or not.

It seems the PRC is the odd man out for case dimensions. All of the other large diameter cases are long actions. The short action cartridges are all standard case head diameter.

Wyatt is building the mag box for these so I'm wondering if there's some interference when you move to the bigger rim in the short action.

That kind of thing happened early with the WSM case. Oddly, my Nosler 48 feeds the WSM case slicker than any other rifle in a short mag I've tried.
Wyatts has been building these for two years now. If it was a matter of tweaking the follower or the box was bad my gun wouldn’t still be sitting there. There is a bigger issue I’m afraid. They know what it is but aren’t saying what it is. They are just saying they don’t have a solution yet. Read the email I posted from customer service.

Does anyone here have a standard SA version? I might grab one in 6.5 CM. Too bad 7mm-08 isn’t an option in 1-8.

I finally got all the parts and pieces to mount up the scope. I went a little different direction- a Leupold 6x42 sitting in Leupold Backcountry "Low" 1" rings on the factory bases. Still just a hair higher than I want, but it's useable. I might throw a stock pack with a spacer to bring up the comb just a touch and roll from there.

I was pretty happy to see the scoped weight come in under 8 pounds, in fact... I don't think a full size 300WM at 7lb 11.5oz is really all that bad. Even with a light sling, scope caps and a full mag I'll be under 8.5.

A couple of buddies questioned a fixed 6...but I've shot dang near everything with a 6x or a variable on 6x for two decades, I don't think it'll be much of a handicap.

That’s a nice light setup for a .300 Win Mag. I’d like to have seen a 7mm Rem Mag too.

Go to YouTube and type in wyatts box 6.5prc. After watching the video it seems to me that if adjusting the spring or follower as he suggest would solve it we would have our guns back already. Also in the video he mentions having to mill the receiver out more for 6.5prc. My opinion (which isn’t worth much) is that it wasn’t done correctly. Also building a 6.5prc on a short action is stupid. The clearances are to tight and there will be several bullets that you can’t shoot.

I hope your problem with your rifle gets resolved. Nosler isnt technically a firearm manufacturer they are parts assemblers. I dont think this problem would exist if they had the people and facilities to manufacture a rifle. I have a 21 280ai and love it. Nosler should have fully tested these before shipping. This is embarrassing for a company like Nosler. I hope Nosler makes it right and sees this doesnt continue.

Well, ended up ordering a Nosler M21 last night in 6.5 PRC…should have it at my ffl in a week or so. Will update everyone after it arrives. Winter has arrived here in AK so not sure if I will be able to get to the range before they close in December. Plan to throw a Leupold VX3hd on it to keep the weight down. Think it’ll be a perfect mule deer rifle and a definite upgrade to my tikka.
Does yours have feeding Issues like the others? I had to send mine back.

Wonder if the way these guns were built means new stocks, actions, etc. or worse if they cannot make the geometry of the 6.5 PRC work in this action reliably. Your point of not being able to use some projectiles is also a valid point.

Also interesting point is that all three of our rifles appear to be the only 6.5 PRCs acknowledge. I heard our SN are all within 20 digits (other calibers are the in between SN).

Yup. Terrible design flaw or they had and idiot build some wrong. Either way zero quality control. Most custom gun builders suggest a medium to a long action for 6.5prc. These feeding problems we’re issues 2 years ago when the round came out.

I spoke with them today. I wish that I hung up feeling better. It sounds like a total redesign of the follower, spring and mag box are in the works. I was told again that they did test every rifle for feed reliability before they leave. The ease in which I discovered this issue surprises me that they didn’t see it in production testing. The time line going forward is up in the air. I do think that they are trying to fix this, but in my opinion now isn’t the time for fixes. That should have been done in preproduction.

It does seem that the non-short and stubbys work well. I hope that continues.

In the end I’m likely going to wash my hands of this and take the offer to get my money back from my dealer. I’ve lost total interest in this firearm and I only had it in hand for two days in the last 3-4 weeks.
