For those of you who have seen my last post, 168 Berger vs 162 Eldx, and 160 AccuBond, I have decided to go with the accubond.

I know this bullet has performed well on paper so far but what has everyone’s experience been with the bullet on game? Thanks

Not sure what you are hunting , but 160 grain accubond out of a 7 mag has worked well on elk shot . Good luck

Accubond and ABLR…..Close range, longer range… deer, elk ,moose… been reliable out of my 270

Exceptional in my 7mag, been used on black tail , white tail, mule deer, Rocky Mountain elk and Roosevelt. It’s all I’ll shoot in that gun.

I shot them for quite a few years. Used h1000 and got 2950 fps. Killed multiple antelope, deer, and elk with them. From 40 to 700ish yards. Never any complaints with performance. Recovered bullets were typical mushroom. Pass through usually left about a 1.5” exit.

Always have worked good for me on deer, elk, and moose. 300 Win Mag 200 grain. Recovered bullets with 65%-70% weight retention... top bullet frontal on a deer, bottom bullet broadside bull moose... both had the bullet stuck on the far side hide.

I have killed everything I have ever shot with accubonds and they dropped within sight, but performance on deer and caribou was satisfactory, but not impressive. In my experience, ballistic tips give more dramatic results on thin skinned/lighter framed game. I prefer to drop them in their tracks...bang flop, and ballistic tips behind the shoulder do that. Accubonds would be my choice for elk and bear. YMMV

I don’t have direct experience with 7mag accubonds, but my wife and I shot 30cal 180gr accubonds and killed over 25 bulls with them. You will find them just under the hide on the exit side of the elk often. Every single bullet will look like the pics above. We switched to 215s a while back, but I still have several hundred accubonds. They are accurate and they kill elk. Good luck.

Entrance hole on an elk from a 160 accubond out of a 28 Nosler about 250-300 yards if I remember correctly. Bullet exited elk was dead in its feet fell over after 30 seconds

I have had great success with 180 grain Accubond out of 300 WM. The only issue is availability of bullets for reloading over the past 2 years. I have not been able to find them anywhere.

In the same boat. I worked up a superb load for my 30-06 recently and plan to use that for white tail this year. I've had some pretty bad luck with some of the softer bullets and wanted something a little more forgiving if the shot conditions weren't 100% perfect. The picture above showing the bullet recovered from the elk that went through both shoulders makes me feel like I made the right choice with the 165gr Accubonds.

Going one step further because I'm interested and I lucked up on a box, I'm going to work up a load for 160gr Partitions in my new 280ai as well. Going to do the pepsi challenge with both of them this year.

No problems here. Elk at 358 yards. 165 grain out of my 30-06. I also recovered one out of my mule deer from 228 yards (spine).

I did have trouble finding 165's at the beginning of the pandemic. I did find 4 boxes of 180's and figured I would find a way to make them work. Good thing I did! I went from ~.75MOA to almost same hole accuracy at 100 yards.

Now I did shoot a black bear with a 180 and after that, I think for deer and antelope the bullet will definitely go through and through with minimal damage.

My .270 shoots 140gr. Accubonds extremely well. And the performance on game has been outstanding. They have worked as good or better than partitions, and the accuracy has improved.
