Northern Utah Velvet

Heading to Northern Utah for my first mule deer hunt and want to be prepared for taking care of velvet. When do mule deer typically shed their velvet in that part of the world? I'll be there Aug 30-Sept 13. Thanks and good luck this season!

They will be in velvet when u get there and starting to shed when u leave. U can still find some bucks in velvet during muzzleloader season

Bucks in velvet during the muzzy season are very rare and in almost all cases those will be stag or cactus bucks. Most bucks start shedding their velvet during the first week of September after labor day weekend.
