Northern California FNG- Out of state/Guide question

Hey all-

Newbie to the site from Northern California. Interested in getting some out of state hunts under my belt over the next few years so I can get my boys involved when they are old enough to come along. Hoping to be dialed in by then so they can enjoy successful hunts and get em’ hooked. Grew up hunting mostly ducks and upland game, so my knowledge is limited. Can't wait to bag my first bull!

Have a couple solo backpacking trips under my belt in B Zone, but no luck yet (got within 90 yards with my bow this season before I spooked him), Looking forward to all your advice and tips.

Over the years I’ve found I go too fast and need to spend more time glassing. Glass in good places and glass often. That’s all the wisdom I have to offer. Good luck out there this season!
