Too bad NFC has the worst shipping, availability, and CS. Still waiting for a blank I ordered in September. They also forgot to add in 5 guides in one of my orders. No response from CS

This 100% when I used to build and sell rods I ordered a half dozen or so blanks from them for a good friend/customer. We waited almost 6 months before going in a different direction. It was impossible to get a hold of anyone. No one answered the phone or returned emails. Eventually I had to file a complaint with the BBB and got a response and a refund. From the rod building stuff I still follow it doesn't sound like much has changed. They do make quality stuff though, if you don't mind waiting anywhere from 1 week to 1 year to get it then it's probably not a bad deal.

They can sometimes be slow, but I've found them to be really forthright with delivery times on small orders. I've never had a major problem getting a hold of anyone though. Rods I've built out have landed sharks to pan fish, and they have a good selection of fly blanks.

It seems as simple as just getting lucky with what they actually have in inventory. You're either on the right or wrong side and there isn't much in between it seems. It was just the lack of accountability and communication that pushed me away after the bad experience. There were too many really good blanks/companies out there to deal with at that time. Not sure what's around now I haven't been following nearly as closely as I used to.

When was your last experience?

When was your last experience?
My first and only experience was probably 5 years ago. I refused to order from them after that. It wasn't hard for me given the types of blanks I was typically using weren't available through them and I had wholesale accounts everywhere I really needed to be ordering from. I still see things like this pop up on the rod building groups I am in from time to time. Man I really miss building, when the kids get a little older I'll get back into it and maybe they'll join in. It got to be a chore instead of an enjoyment.

That makes sense. I think that was shortly after Gary was able to actually put his name on stuff and they began really trying to grow.

I haven't ordered anything lately, and haven't made a rod in a while either for your same reasons.
