Good afternoon all! My dad got drawn for a cow tag in unit M9, and I am hoping to gather some intel if possible. I had planned on getting up to the unit to do some scouting, but due to unexpected circumstances I was unable to make it. If anyone has seen any moose, or knows of any farmers out that way that are looking to get rid of a cow, any info would be greatly appreciated! We are heading up there on Friday and will be doing our due diligence to round one up spotting, knocking on doors, talking to folks at the local watering holes, etc. Feel free to DM if preferred. Thanks!

Have you tried calling Lonetree? I'd imagine the biologist there could nudge you and I'd ask him if the PL biologist knows of any landowners that want one gone. I'd bet they do. They might be able to hook you up with local enforcement too. Just got off the phone a half hour ago with the warden in south central and he touched on the number of moose he saw over the weekend down there. Pheasant hunters should be pushing em around and it sounds like guys are starting on flowers!

I'm assuming you already checked it, but NDA has a decent thread going with reports.

There are plenty running around up by Turtle Lake. I was up in Bottineau with my dad on Friday and filled his cow tag about 15 miles south of there. Harvest is in full swing now so there are lots of farmers in the field that would be able to share information and sightings.
