Non Traditional Idaho Chukar Spots

I've hunted all over the typical ID chukar hills during my time in WA and a brief stint in Boise.

Now that we're up in NW Montana, I'm curious about the bird populations around Salmon, and up by Kooskia...as they're only a 4.5 hour drive vs the 8-10 to my old spots.

I am in the same boat, coming from Helena. While I was steelhead fishing around North Fork ID, i heard chukar a number of times. I will be taking the dog with next year.
