Non resident pronghorn hunt budget?

Provided I already have all of the gear I would need, anyone have a ballpark estimate of how much I should budget for a non-resident week-long pronghorn hunt? I'm thinking probably South Dakota archery, and I'm willing to go pretty bare bones

The first year I do a new hunt the cost is always higher because there is some gear I need or think I need. The second year is always significantly cheaper.

My cheapest pronghorn hunt was around $700 in 2015 but that would be around $1000 today with inflation. That was driving split between 3 guys camping only for 4 days.

Most of my pronghorn hunts typically cost between $1500-2000 with some lodging, maybe a flight and rental car.

As already mentioned you can usually sort these questions out with a spreadsheet in 15 minutes with multiple variations.

As stated above. It can be done easily on the cheap. And usually antelope season weather is
decent camping.
And bring a cooler with food, your own water. You'd be eating at home anyway so the
food and water is really not an added expense.

This is a very achievable hunt on a budget. The largest investment is time and planning. For under $2,000, you can have an incredible Western hunting experience. Good luck in the draw!

Thanks for all of the input. To those of you who pointed out that I could figure this out for myself, point taken I mainly wanted to get some input on what it has cost those of you who have done it before before I crunched my own numbers.

How far do you expect to be driving and what mpg does your vehicle get?

If you have everything else there shouldn’t be any variables.

Buy tag

Buy whatever food you want to eat for however many days you expect to hunt

Put gas in truck as needed
Calculate to the closest town, double that to get home and add 100 miles per day you expect to hunt.
Divide the total miles by your expected mpg.
Multiply that number by the average price of fuel.

About $150 at meat processor.

Depending on a few things...

DIY (tags bought, no trespass fees): you'll be in it for gas and food, processing fees, taxidermy fees

Guided/Semi: Trespass/guide fees ($100-5000+), Tips, processing, taxidermy, gas

My hunts are usually "DIY". I'm paying for tags in multiple states and usually draw 1-2 tags a year. Tags vary by state. Gas varies on where I'm driving to, but it's ALL cheaper than in Wa, so I'm not one to bellyache about that. I'm either camping or staying at family/friends. Food is food. Taxidermy depends on if I shoot one I want euro'd or shoulder. I'm paying about $100 for a euro (up to $200 if I bring it to Wa). Shoulder mounts are $650-1300 depending on the taxidermist and what I want done. I do my own processing, so it's game bags and time.
