Does anybody have a good recommendation for a good NON hooded wind shell? I previously ran the Sitka evo and really liked how durable it is, how well it shed water, and wind resistance. I moved off of it due to the exposed back panel. I now am running the kuiu alpine but the fleece lining typically makes it too warm for hiking imo. I would prefer American made but I would like to see what others have had experience with.

I keep a mountain hardwear kor air shell in my pack at all times. Packs up the size of a baseball and is very lightweight. Not a durable shell, but does a great job at cutting wind and I put it on once I stop either under a puffy or just over my base layers.

I have an older version of the marmot driclime wind shirt that is non hooded. Pretty solid midlayer overall. It’s kind of a mix of wind shirt and softshell. Probably an eBay find now since I think it’s discontinued.

I’ve moved to more of the active insulated mid layer and wind shirt combo though since I like the hood when the wind is ripping.
