Nomad Ti XC

I have a Ti XC in jail now.
Have been working on getting all the Muzzle devices for it to be able to put it on other rifles.

Have also thought about getting the Ebrake for it as well.
Any one know how much that helps?
I have the Nomad XC and really happy with it, bought the ebrake and used it a few times but ended up scrapping it. I don't just anything that has enough recoil to notice anyway lol.

For the cover I use Weka and it fits fantastically.

I didn’t have a cover for Steel City but it was pretty cold weekend no issues with mirage. But assume I might need one as we get hotter temps
There was a gentleman using the nomad XC ti with gen2 at Steel City, mentioned how well it was working for him. I assume it was you? Convinced me to replace my e-brake 😂

I have the XC LTI with the RecoilX. I had the ebrake and didn't really notice any reduction in recoil. The RecoilX definitely works as advertised. I've used the suppressor on a 7Saum and 308.

Just submitted for my tax stamp on a nomad Ti XC, excited to see how it is once it gets approved! Will spend its time on a 300wsm, second suppressor.

sorry a newbie here and looking for my first suppressor. What’s the benefit of getting the direct thread vs the xeno adapter?
Direct thread is lighter. If you’re gonna go with an adapter, I’d go with a left hand thread hub adapter. That way when you try and break the suppressor loose (turning it to the right loosens a left hand thread), you don’t twist the muzzle break loose.

Thanks. Are you still able to directly thread it even if you get the xeno adapter option? I’d assume you can remove the adapter?

Yes, it is a HUB compatible can so any direct thread HUB mount can be installed in replace of the Xeno adapter. Just unscrew the Xeno adapter and screw in the direct thread adapter. You will just have to buy it separately because the can comes with one or the other.

This was very helpful, thanks
Of course. For me personally, I prefer direct thread for almost everything other than defensive AR-15s. It's lighter weight, more accurate, and more repeatable (some QD systems seem to be more repeatable than other's, but I don't have a lot of experience with all the different systems these days.) For a hunting rifle, direct thread makes a lot more sense to me as long as you're diligent about checking to ensure that it's secure, especially at the range. After reading about it here I believe, I've been experimenting with using a few wraps of teflon tape on the barrel threads (the yellow kind meant for high temp gas lines), and it seems to do a really good job of preventing the can from loosening.

I'll be the counter point, I run most of my rifle cans on Xeno. while I still use DT on some hunting cans (mostly non-hub where I don't have the option), I prefer Xeno for most purposes. Being a LH thread taper system, Xeno is about as repeatable as it gets accuracy and POI-wise (regularly use mine out to 1k yds), stays mounted tightly better than DT without having to use anything like Teflon tape, and unlike some of the right-hand taper systems, due to the LH threads, the Xeno mount will never stick to the muzzle device and unscrew from the can body when being removed from the rifle. Also I when swapping cans around, which I do pretty frequently, you're putting wear on relatively large, nitrided, easily replaced threads on the Xeno interface instead of the relatively soft, small and sometimes galling-prone threads on your barrels.

The cost of using Xeno, in my opinion is.... cost, about 5/8" total system length and about 2 oz ( w/Xeno Xero muzzle device) over the same can with DT. Of course, one of the nice things about Hub is you can try either, or something totally different and change your mind later and go a different direction if you want.

The pros and cons are probably going to weight out differently for different people, but that's generally where I've settled
