I made a form1 can and I am getting a snap/pop from the chamber area of the rifle. It is a cz455. I initially thought I built a loud can, but I discovered it was the rifle. I don’t know what the sound is, but if I put my head closer to the chamber, the sound is loud enough to make my ear ring.
The rifle is a cz455, factory barrel, I threaded it myself and it is spot on. Headspace is .043”. Striker stop has .010” clearance after firing a case. All hardware is tight.
The can is 1.5”x6.5” and has a .238” bore. 9 baffles with 60° cones. The first 6 baffles are clipped, the remaining 3 are not.
I am thinking it has to be the brass slapping the chamber walls because the brass comes out clean, no soot. Has anyone else experienced this?
