Does anyone shoot without a Stabilizer?

If so, what do you use to attach the wrist strap to the bow? Just a bolt?

I did. Sorta. I had a tiny 2" stab. A doinker just to hold my strap. It did nothing else. Maybe damped a vibe or two.

Two of my buds shoot with nothing. Not even the strap. They shoot fine but I see them grab the bow at the shot.

Maybe i could just cut down a cheapy rubber stabilizer just so the threads are attached. Im not sure if a mental thing or what but without the strap i found myself torquing my bow after shot

You should be able to go to any hardware store and pick up a 5/16-24 Allen head screw just to hold your strap on. That's what I did until I found the stab I wanted.

I shoot without a stab and just use a bolt for the strap. I think that the use of a stabilizer depends a lot on how the bow itself balances in the hand. If it's got a clear lean in one direction just holding it out, then a stabilizer will probably be useful. Mine's balanced pretty fine in my hand without the additional weight.

I don't use a stabilizer or a wrist sling.

I've tried shooting with a stabilizer and without and prefer not to pack the extra weight in the backcountry, but that's what works for me.

I don't use one and the same bolt size that holds on your rest or a 5/16" fine thread

No stabilizer for me. I have a hex head screw and a cap with an engraved skull I'll throw up some pics this evening.

I always wondered why a guy would cut down his toothbrush but then haul that heavy thing all over heck.

That heavy thing only weighs 7.2oz on my bow, which is hardly even noticeable to me........except while shooting in the wind. I also don't like the feel of the bow without it and how much it kicks up at the shot. Now my 17oz B-stinger..........I would agree with you, that's noticeable. But I've also hauled that thing around for days at a time without any issues. It makes a nice handle to carry the bow over my shoulder.

Hardstalk.... thats awesome! Did you have someone engrave it?

No. There just hex head covers. I think it's billet. You can find them at some hardware stores. Might have luck at a large auto parts store also.

I went from about the shortest, lightest stab I could find (TRUE glow dedenator) to a Trophy Ridge Static 9 and it made a noticeable difference in my shooting at 40 yards. My bow holds more steady on target and my confidence is higher now. Worth every ounce IMO....

Have never really shot without one very much. I was shooting a very lightweight octane 7" that I bought with my bow then just recently replaced it with a bee stinger with an 11 and 8 oz weight. Still playing with the different weights but it seems like the more weight I can handle below the grip, the better my shooting usually is. So for me, it's worth packing around the extra weight to have more confidence at longer ranges.

I like an offset stab, to counter the weight of a chunky MBG sight & quiver full of 520gr arrows. The weighted rod of the Stokerized SS1 can also be slid front/back to help balance out a top heavy condition. Worth the weight, IMHO...
