NM unit 31 general knowledge?

I was crazy fortunate to draw 31 archery.
I am proud to have a OIL pronghorn tag for NM probably never get another one.
so, I’m just curious about lope population numbers down there? Do they congregate in certain zones?
Also, are archers still allowed to access NM state land and hunt it? I knew you could 3 years ago.
I’m not looking for a trophy just want to make sure there is something to kill. I know it will be hot as hell. Looking forward to getting dirty.

All the hunts are public land. There are a few small pieces of state land that have been removed from hunting access, but otherwise the vast majority of the state land and BLM in that unit is open as long as you can find direct public access to it. I wouldn’t worry much about any of the land in the South/western portion of the unit (Carlsbad, Malaga, etc), I have never seen a Pronghorn out that way.
