NM Fall Bear Hunting

My bother and I are heading to New Mexico bear hunting this fall. This will be our first time bear hunting and we were going to try predator calling Black Bear in zone 7. Does anyone have any input?

U better be there opening day. Season will most likely be closed within a week because of quota

Is this common for most of the bear zones? I was looking to get after fall bear as well for the first time here.

Not all but zone 7 usually closes first. Within a week it seems

Good to know, I appreciate it. Bear was backup plan to hunt the mountains this year since I struck out on the elk draw, I just want to get out there.
