I’m surprised by the amount of NL pures listed in the classifieds on a regular basis. All models it seems. Are people not overly excited or impressed with their performance? I personally don’t own a pair (still have 8.5 ELs) just curious.

I've also been wondering this. Been in the market for a new pair and the NLs have been on the short list. All of the ones I've seen for sale recently has given me a bit of a pause

NL pures are great from a tripod probably nothing better.

In my case they get beat out by rangefinding binos for rifle and Zulus for archery hunting.
Have 15s when I need them or a spotter

I don’t think I’m in the minority. I have noticed a lot on here as well, it’s extremely tempting.

Ive been eyeing up the 12s and 14s but I agree with the rf binos I have the revics and they are really nice.

My buddy has the 14 NLs I’ve messed with them a little bit but my first impression wasn’t that I was going to run out and drop 3k on them. Definitely nice glass. I was always impressed with the 15slc.

I honestly think it has to do with the economy! Also, guys going to rangefinder/binos.
The NLs are some of the best Binoculars I have looked thru. But yes, I saw some 12x42s go for $2000 the other day???!

Guys are selling 12s to buy 14s, when the els were the best there were tons of sets forsale here. Gear junkies buy and sell.

What about spotting far far away? Do you like the bino better for FOV and spotting shots?
I still have a Meopta S2, the ATC IMO wasn’t enough and big binos are better for my use. I had the ATC and Meostar 15’s at the same time and liked the big binos for most stuff and used the spotter for verifying. When looking for large animals through i always wished I had my big spotter with me. The 14’s are lighter and better than the 15 Meoptas so the NL’s and the big spotter is similar weight to the Meoptas and ATC.

I also bought some NL8x32s as a lightweight chest bino.

They’re fantastic binos…. But they don’t range. I don’t think I could do a separate bino and rangefinder for standard 10 or 12x binos.
