Hi, does anyone know if the new bino adapter comes with the stud? Looks like the SLC came with one. Wondering if I still need to buy the outdoorsman stud. Just bought the NL pure 12x42. Thanks!

Completely different adapter system.

The TAs is a male protrusion that goes into the new female "socket" on the new NL Binos.

There is not "stud" that the adapter has to clamp onto anymore.

I'm also hoping the market comes up with more after market adapters for the NL Pure Gen 2 fitment. It looks like Outdoorsmans has one that is out of stock, but don't see anyone else that has a solution. I'm going to run NL Pure 10x and I have Vortex 18s that I switch back and forth alot with so I really need a system that can work with both. I don't like the kinds that clamp around a barrel of the bino, drive me nuts when hand holding.

I just picked up the Gen 2 MUTNT Gear stud for the new NLs. Shipped quick. It’s nitrided steel and high quality construction. Haven’t installed it as my NLs come on Monday.

The stud does just fit and give solid lockup in my Outdoorsmans adapter. The Outdoorsmans adapter is 5/16”, and the MUTNT stud mics at 7.98mm=.3145”, so just slightly larger than Outdoorsmans. Likely an 8mm spec.

Curiously, the threading on the MUTNT stud is almost surely M9x0.5. I couldn’t find the country of manufacture anywhere on the product or website, but this threading would be a very odd choice for a US machine shop. The design and quality of manufacture seem top notch; hopefully in practice it works as desired.

Can confirm the MUTNT gen 2 NL stud works with the Outdoorsman’s adapter. Thanks for the heads up on that.

Thanks guys, I just installed a Mutnt stud on my new NL14’s and prefer it the the outdoorsman’s I’ve had on other optics. Fits in my outdoorsman’s adapter very well and really like how it installs and has a nice clean finish.

I didn’t like the barrel clamp either until I tried the Wiser center mount barrel clamp, super low profile and well made

Friend of mine has the swaro adapter shown in the original post. It fell apart into multiple pieces on his first real hunt using it, internal tiny screw backed out and was lost in the desert. Luckily another friend had a clamp style mount with him and he was able to salvage glassing from a tripod the rest of the hunt. He got a free replacement from swaro but I don’t see how he won’t have the same issue with the new one
