I've heard some reports that the NL Pures are prone to fogging on the eyepieces in cold temperatures. Swaro discontinued the use of their anti-fog coatings in 2021 I believe due to PFAS. I'm all for buying PFAS free products but I hunt the wet side of the Cascades in Oct/Nov and I worry about how they'll perform in those conditions without anti-fog. I know this has been discussed briefly here before, but I'm looking specifically for folks who hunt in wet weather most of the time. If I lived in SE Idaho, I'd already have a pair.

Any hunters in western OR,WA, BC, or SE Alaska who've had these in the field that can share their experience?

I’ve had issues with all of my binos fogging on the outside if it’s cold and wet and I pull them up to my hot face. My NL’s were no different backpacking in shed hunting this spring. 35 deg and raining and when I stopped to glass I had steam coming out of my chest. If I glassed after letting myself cool off for a bit they were fine. I’ve had this same issue with every pair of binos, riflescopes or spotters I’ve owned.

Lifetime western Washington hunter. Ive come to the same conclusion with binos as with raingear. Nothing much you can do about it, just deal with it.

I hunt the coastrange and while I haven't used the NL in the wet, I have used the hydrophobic coatings from Leica, Zeiss, and Swaro on different optics.

None of those made much of a difference in my use.

The only one I have found to work was Rainguard, used by Bushnell. Even so, it would still get overwhelmed.

You just deal with it, like Jelly stated.

I assumed everyone blows breath out the corner of their mouth to help with fogging when it’s cold, but it’s worth repeating.
