Nikon ED 50

Hey all


I have a Nikon ED 50 with the mc2 13-40x eyepiece. Is it worth getting a fixed 27 wide to use on the scope? I don’t use a spotter a lot as I live in BC Canada and don’t hunt many open areas.

I got the 27 and really liked it, but I eventually put the variable back on for the extra reach and left it on. If you used the scope a lot you might find it worthwhile, for very occasional use I think you probably wouldn't.

Was the eye relief a lot better?

The 27 fixed/wide, I found to be the optimal eyepiece for the 50mm ED. Less focus adjustment needed with the 27 = less scope fatigue. You will not regret getting it.

Yes, significantly so. Just make sure you get the WIDE version, either the 27/40/50 wide MC or the 27/40/50 wide DS.

I had the 27X wide angle eyepiece and sold it to a fellow Rokslider 5 years ago, keeping the zoom. I like the versatility of the 13X-30 zoom....especially the lower end powers. And I find the eye relief adequate to use the zoom as an eye glass wearer. Didn't notice the eye relief was that much better on the 27X???

Ok well maybe I will stick airings 13-40.

Has anyone tried a Magview and a I phone on there Nikon 50
