Nightforce Scope Mounting Question

I have a Christensen Ridgeline FFT in 280 AI with Hawkins one piece base/rings. I am thinking about putting an NX8 2.5-20x50 on it. Is this doable with my current rings, or am I going to have to go to a rail and rings set up?

What about an NXS 2.5-10x42?

The nightforce website says that scope has a 5.1” mounting area. How far apart are your rings?

Just measured…looks like I am 5 5/16 .

My experience is that you can’t use short eye relief compact Nightforce scopes and the one piece base/rings on a long action. Even if the scope mounts it will be too far forward to get into the eye box of the scope comfortably.

I have the SHV mounted on a couple SA Remmy 700 clone actions with Talley’s and it works, barely. I don’t see it working with the NXS, and definitely not on a LA.

I am a pretty big guy with a long LOP, O wish I could test it. The 2.5-20 will barely work, just not sure about eye relief…

Even if it’ll mount, you won’t have the room to move the scope back far enough for eye relief.

Using Nightforce rail and seekins lows, I mounted a 2.5-10x42 on a Rem Long action. It works, but no extra room on it.
