appears the x5 has no experience here beyond ryan based on a search... i have one in a 5-25x56 non illum 4wx reticle, and a nxs that ive used for a while that is 3.5-15x50. i like the nf stuff but wanted to try more mag at longer d with the best glass i could get for a proper $. waiting for nf ultralights for the swaro to really see what i think. anyone that has real experience feel free to pipe up and share... thanks.

How far are you going to shoot? The 18 power X5 is a beast out to 1500+ yards with 116 MOA of elevation. I have shot out past 2100 yards in testing.

I have compared the X5 to the Atacr and NXS. The X5 glass is better than the Atacr and much better than the NXS. The two X5 that I have used track perfectly. But I have talked to a few reliable individuals that had issues with the 5-25. If I needed a 25 power, I would go all in with the Atacr because at that point; you might as well have all the bells and whistles.

Distanse wise up to 2000 yards max. My 3.5-15 does well enough at 1600yrds but at times think more mag would be better. Its more of a want thsn need im thinking. Never shot with a scope with more than 15x. As far as the 5-25 not tracking, this may apply to that, spoke with swaro about adjusting after zeroing and they stated you shouldnt bottom it out or it puts too much pressure on spring and can have an effect on not tracking proper and even the recoil disrups acuracy of scope if had done so and to adjust so a few moa are left. That gave me an errie thought about the design. Would you say that is a acurate statement of the x5 and its design? Thanks.

Yeah, but I think that's true about all of the dialing scopes. I read somewhere about NF saying, it's best not to have your dial ran to the edge of adjustment. Truthfully, I've had tracking issues with NF, Lupy, Swaro, and vortex. You have to validate every scope you get.

The part that I don't understand is why the 5-25 X5 has such a small adjustment window. Very Counterproductive!

But the 3.5-18 X5 is the cats ass for me. It has everything I need in a long range hunting scope and then some.

Ya ill be running a tall target test for sure if i keep it. On the fence.. I agree it seems counter productive to be limited in elevation as it is on the 5-25. Especially for a long range scope and add the high$ to it i think your spot on the 18x is bout right be it elevation and weight wise etc... Thanks for the replys on this.

after a few days behind the x5 5-25x56 right next to my current nightforce nxs 3.5-15x50 i have made my mind up on this saga.... honestly for my eyes the x5 being $1400 is barely better glass wise for my eyes....not enough to keep at least for me, the proprietary tool needed to adjust bothers as well. imop the zero stop on the nf is more simple and uses common tools to adjust, i like how the focus adjusts better as well. i think its hard to beat a nxs for the $ ill be sending back the x5 for a tried and true nxs 5.5-22x56 to add to my quiver rather than the x5. for my eyes i like the MOAR reticle nf has also more than the 4wx i chose on the x5. lots of options out there just like anything.... going with my instincts on this one. almost forgot to mention the atacr is not even a consideration be it its weight and size for me.... wish nf would put the atacr glass in a nxs etc.... untill then....
